We didn't do anything we won't be able to do after our baby arrives, but it was still a nice opportunity to spend a day together, doing 'fun stuff,' just the two of us.
I'm so looking forward to adding this little one to our family, and all the new experiences and joy and love that will be part of our lives because of this precious gift. But I also look back on the year and a half Crandon and I have had together, and feel thankful for all the things, big and little, that we've been able to do together.
So we laid aside our house painting project for a whole Friday and started our day with a trip to the local park for some ultra-micro airplane flying. I just watched and sipped my morning coffee!
Next we headed West. A good choice for a very hot day! We enjoyed lunch at Mom's Apple Pie in Sebastopol, browsed Harmony Farm Supply (bought some flowers and a book on growing fruit) and continued on to Bodega Bay.
Ice cream for Crandon and an Americano for me, at a hole-in-the-wall place below Highway 1, called Captain Davey's Ice Cream & Espresso, next door to the post office. Ummm...
We sat on a bench overlooking the bay and had fun watching a gopher poke out of his hole and quickly and cautiously pull mouthfuls of weeds back down with him!
A wall of ice plant is hard to do justice to in a picture.
No, Crandon hasn't taken up coffee drinking. I had my hands full with the camera and keeping my purse on my shoulder!
Someone thinks these weeds look really neat stuck all over someone else...
We met up with some family, after a long walk along Doran Beach, to grill some sausages, etc. for dinner. It was a nice bonus to our day!
